You just knew that this was going to happen. Congressional members of the Super-Duper Deficit Reduction Committee are gorging themselves on money from interested lobbying groups and political action committees (PACs).
An article in The Hill indicates that most of the money being showered on these politicians comes from healthcare interests such as hospital and doctor associations. They are concerned that major cuts to Medicare and Medicaid may come from the committee actions.
Even if the super committee doesn’t achieve its mandate of agreeing to $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction, it will have provided major surpluses to campaign coffers.
